How To Write a Personal Thank You Letter

Below are two samples of personal thank you letters. One is for advice and one is for a favor given by a friend. When writing personal thank you letters, the tone can be relaxed and easy-going. Use the receipiant’s first name and date the letter.

Many personal thank you letters are hand-written on thank you cards, but a typed letter or email is acceptable as well. Keep your personal thank you letters short and to the point, but write them often to stay in touch and thank friends for their kindness.
