Personal Thank You Letters

Thank you letters are important in business and in your personal life. You can use them for thanking people for job interviews, gifts, recommendations and more. Check out the samples of thank you letters on the left to help write you next thank you letter.

The contents of your thank you letters will differ based on the type, but should include the following:

• Opening paragraph telling the reader why you are writing to thank them.
• Body (1 - 2 paragraphs) stating your qualifications and excitement (if it's a job thank you letter).
• Close - thank the reader again, use forward-looking language, such as "looking forward to hearing from you soon."
